Week 20 or The Sickness
Well this week was an interesting one. First off, we had a rough sickness this week. One day we were working pretty good and also the people of Medellin were giving us a lot of food because we are awesome missionaries and people love us. But we woke up and had breakfast and then later left to eat lunch, we ate rice, eggs, some meat, and a lot of juice. Later we went up to visit an investigator and she gave us hot chocolate and a cheese sandwich. Later after this visit we visited a member and she also gave us rice and beans and eggs, and a bunch of juice. Later we visited other investigator and he invited us to have salchipapas. And those are fries with sausage. It's really good. And then finally when we got to the house in the night. The other missionaries had ordered pizza. So we ate pizza as well. Lots of good food right_ Well, when we went to bed that night we were really full and we could not eat one more thing. My companion Elder Barazorda woke up at around 3 in the morning to go throw up. I thought to my self ,Oh no, that's rough. He went back to sleep and we woke up in the morning, I asked how he was and he said good. He was curious why I wasn't sick but he was. I said that I didn't know and we stayed in the house to let him sleep and what not. Later at like 12 I felt like crap, and knew that I was about to get sick. I then went to throw up and until about 5 or 6 we were so sick and throwing up and stayed in the house dying. After a while we finally were a little bit better and we went and bought papaya and jello and a few other things to eat to help us feel a little bit better. But for the next three days we were still sick and did not feel good. We didn't have any energy and couldn't eat very much. There was one day when our heads hurt really bad. But we are still recovering a little bit right now 5 days later. It's been a rough sickness. But that was our really fun story this week.

Also another quick story, we met a witch we contacted him at his house even though he did most of the talking. We told him that we were missionaries and that we teach about Jesus. We gave him a pamphlet of the Restoration, and he looked at the image of Jesus on the front and asked, have you guys seen Jesus with your own eyes_ We both said, no but we have faith that he is real and our savior. He said, well I have seen him and have been on a mission for 5 years to share his word. He continued to say, the only thing in this pamphlet that resembles Jesus is the nose. Everything else is wrong. He is very tall and has a really big beard. And his hair is as long as mine. He didn't have any hair, but he thought he had a lot. And he also said that he was very white. We said, wow that really cool trying to be nice. He then asked us, have you guys seen the virgin Mary, We again said, no we have not. And I bet you all can guess what he said. He said, oh yes I have seen her with my own eyes. And you guys can too. He went into his house and grabbed a plastic cup that looked like it had coffee in it earlier. He lit a candle and put it behind the cup. He told me, look inside! So I looked and he said isn't it so cool I said, wow brother, that's crazy. He then continued to show my companion. And for 30 minutes he kept talking to us about this and that he has the power to do this mission that Jesus has commanded him. To finish this story he also told as, as we were finally leaving. Because the whole time we were trying to leave. He said I also found a bible that I have read for the last 5 years. And people think I am crazy that I read this for 5 years without stopping. He then said the best thing. He said, do you guys think I am crazy! Like 5 or 6 times and then started laughing. But there were things inside his house that we could see that were very strange and witch like. But yeah it was a good time.

Oh hi there! |
Anyways, the real cool stuff now. This week has been slow because we have been sick for pretty much the whole week. But we had some good lessons with some investigators and in the end of the week we put some really good lessons. First off is our investigators Johana and Nicholas, the mom and her son. They are awesome and are still preparing for their date to be baptized for the 28th of April. Its going to be hard to get Johana there but we are trying. But we had a good lesson with them one night and we shared the first lesson the Restoration. We shared the first vision and also the Book of Mormon and Johana was very interested in the Book of Mormon as well as her sister that was listening to our conversation. They both said they would read it to learn more about God and Jesus and to find out if they think it is true. But it was a really good lesson and also Nicholas fell asleep. Its alright, he is 8 years old. He is awesome. But we invited her to keep preparing for her baptismal date and she accepted. She is really excited for her kid to be baptized. She has told us that it is a good place for her kid to go to church. We are excited with their progress!
A little song for you all.
Well, not much else exciting happened this week. We came across an old investigator family that is 5 people and they are really cool. They want to meet with us this Monday to have a Family Home Evening and are also excited that I can help them learn English. But we are excited to share with them and start the process over to be baptized. Because they all had a baptismal date but they lost interest for some reason. To me, this just shows that God always loves us and is always preparing people to receive the Gospel.

Chickens. Cause... why not? |
Just walking around.
Alright, that's it. That was our week. Also the people in this new area have never seen a gringo. Anytime I walk anywhere they always are pointing at me and saying like, whoa what is that! The best is the little kids they always tell their parents to look at me. I love it. And they call me mono. Which is monkey but it also means like white person. So it's pretty good. Well, this has been a report from your favorite missionary.
Love you all, have a great week!
Elder Goudie.
