Week 2 - Not So Much Struggle Bus!
It was a really good week this week, we went proselyting in the middle of the week. After only a week and a half of Spanish and CCM. It was so freaking cool. It was such a hard day and we got so many windows and doors shut in our face. And the cool part is, hardly anyone knows about our church. So we can have so many conversations about what we are and what we believe in and then we get the door or window shut in our face. It really was humbling.
Also they shut the window in our face because Colombians are really lazy and they don't come down stairs to answer the door, they just open the window and then yell to us. Or at us. But its really hilarious, we would be trying to talk to someone on the 4th floor and we were on the street, we would be yelling and saying Hola! Nosotros somos missionarois de la iglasia de jesucristo de los santos de los ultimos dias. And they would have to have us repeat it like 8 more times because they couldn't hear us, it was like don't be a bonehead and just come downstairs. It was super cool though, we didn't get into anybodys house though, just their front door and that was it.
We did teach one investigator though and me and my comp Elder Craig didn't understand a thing, but we tried our best. We did bear our testimonies at the end and that was so much fun. Going proselyting was so much fun and made me want to get out to the field so quick.
The only other thing that we did this week was a ton of studying and a ton more of studying. We had so many Spanish classes this week. My comp is so helpful with Spanish and our lessons to our fake investigators are basically him speaking and then me adding a, yeah I know this is true also. But I am getting better. We go to the temple every week and its such a good experience, because it is in English. I actually understand things.
Well I don't have much else to say, food here is still pretty good I guess. Their eggs are horrible and every now and then we actually get a good dinner or lunch. Almost always they never have cold milk so warm milk, warm cereal. It is such a good time in the CCM. I love everyone and everyone is so supportive.
I know that this church is true and my testimony has grown so much here. And in Spanish. Yo se que el libro de mormon is verdadaro, y jesucristo es nosotros salvador, yo se que la expiacion es mui importante in my vida y nuestros vidas.
Love you all talk to you next week.
